All of a Sudden All of a sudden, on purpose I do what I’ve done accidentally My whole life, pen to paper Hammering and chiseling out words Hoping for a heart transplant I settle for a bypass known as knowledge Anesthesia wearing off My extreme makeover complete I discover the damned talking mirrors still chanting: “Oh yes I know that, You don’t have to tell me, I know that, You don’t have to tell me, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know! Damn you, I know…” Chest pains, arm pains, head pains My old fiendish friends return with a scream. Pause and think on that On a different day All of a sudden on purpose God shows up God is not screaming, punishing or handing out brimstone And I do what you’ve done accidentally my whole life Change, not by might, sword or power It's by hitting bottom and a crazy revelation That God is madly in love with me Then all of a sudden on purpose I do what I’ve done accidentally My whole life, pen to paper Pause and think on that.
